Leah sit down for a chat with Orrin Grey on writing for licensed fiction.

Orrin Grey is the author of several spooky books, among them Guignol & Other Sardonic Tales and Painted Monsters & Other Strange Beasts, both available from Word Horde.

His stories about monsters, ghosts, and sometimes the ghosts of monsters have been published in dozens of anthologies, including Ellen Datlow’s Best Horror of the Year, and he has regular bylines at Unwinnable, Signal Horizon, The Pitch, Ranker, The Lineup, Weird Horror, The Portalist, and others. He has written for tabletop games such as Warmachine, Hordes, and the Iron Kingdoms Role Playing Game, and his essays on vintage horror cinema have been collected into two volumes, both available from Innsmouth Free Press. John Langan once referred to him as “the monster guy,” and he never lets anyone forget it.
