Having survived the night, the party makes it’s way to a farm on Orchard Island. The inhabitants, friends of the boats captain, agree to put them up and wash their clothes. During the course of conversation the farmer reveals that there’s an inn on the island. So they decide to head there so as not to impose on the family.
Harry is able to secure a room with an IOU after giving his credentials. Weary from the long night, everyone crashes early. In the morning they have a hearty breakfast and then decide to head out to find the polio hospital.
