The self-awareness with which this story has been penned injects some much needed fresh humours into my jaded perception of pastiche.
Our protagonist, Reginald, ignores his lusty bride of many years to satiate his collecting desires. A masterpiece of a dollhouse is gained. After much swordplay and even more slinging of fluids, the magnitude of the miniature estate this adventurous man of great privilege has obtained becomes clear.
Many calls to the storied Northeastern states of a tentacled past echo in a refrain of familiar voices. This all-too-brief tale was an absolute delight to read. Like Reginald’s excitement upon first sight of his miniscule manor, I am reminded of what sheer joys creating in the sandboxes of public domain can be.
